029 - Sr. Software Engineer - Project Manager (SD2 Utility)

Description

Direct, coordinate, implement, execute, control and complete projects in software technology including firmware, device drivers and utilities that comply with company strategy, commitments and goals, and which promote the sales of Kyocera Mita printers and digital copier products worldwide. Develop software in its development state of the art, software technology and solutions that provide benefit to our customers. Assist in recommendations to management concerning the full range of software development processes and objectives. This is a regular, full time position. No relocation assistance is available for this position.

Major Responsibilities




Effectively direct, coordinate, implement, execute, control and complete projects in software technology including firmware, device drivers and utilities that comply with company strategy, commitments and goals, and which promote the sales of Kyocera Mita printers and digital copier products worldwide.


Lead the planning, research, architecture, user interfaces and functionality design, implementation, documentation, localization, testing and maintenance of software development projects.


Communicate the project scope, goals, schedule and deliverables and ensure that milestones are met on time. Manage project operation and resource allocation.


Collaborate closely with other engineering groups, product planning, requirements analysis, technical communication and QA sections. Act as a central point of contact for all communications relating to projects.
Ensure that projects adhere to established standards and methodology practices.


Make recommendations on IS/IT tools, new development processes and industry best-practices necessary to manage and develop projects effectively
Track status of existing issues and identify new issues and risks. Assess, implement and manage project change requests.


Report to upper management and stakeholders in monthly meetings the progress of assigned team projects, results of project evaluations and assessments. Run weekly project status meetings.

Requirements




An undergraduate degree is required and an advanced degree is highly desirable.
Over 5 years of software or firmware project management or equivalent experience relevant to our industry; or equivalent combination of post-graduate education and industry experience are required.

Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, such as Rational Unified Process and Agile processes is a must.

Proven experience of managing global projects with geographically dispersed teams is needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.



Technology Expertise in NET C#, ASP.NET, C/C++, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, XML/XSL, Visual Studio 2005, 2008, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, WCF, WPF, WinForms, SQL, J2EE, Servlets/JSP, JDBC, JNDI, RMI, Eclipse, Windows and Web UI design essentials, networking, multithreading is desired.

Knowledge of and experience with printer software solution business is preferred.
